Are You as Mad as a Hatter?

The Mad Hatter is considered to be one of the most notable characters from Alice and Wonderland, so why not set aside a day to celebrate him! This silly day was created in 1986 in Boulder, Colorado.  In the 8th century, hatters used mercury in a process called "carroting," and this actually resulted in some of the makers becoming crazy, or "mad."
