Day of the Day: The Sweetest Day of the Year!

For everyone out there who has a sweet tooth, prepare to jump with joy because it is National Dessert Day! No need to count those calories today because you can pile your plate with as many sugary treats as your digestive system will allow. If you are insisting upon sticking to a healthy diet despite the fact that today is, indeed, a freebie day to eat as you wish, do not panic because there are some scrumptious snacks that won't cost you too much. Now it is simply time to break out those Easy Bake Ovens and gather your favorite dessert recipes!
While baking can be a very fun and yummy hobby, we are not all Betty Crockers...mhmm, you know who you are. If this is the case for you, don't fret! Baking can be a stress-free time if you just have fun with it. Botched your batch of brownies? No worries, that can just be your practice round! A few things I like to do while I bake to make the overall experience more enjoyable is pop in a good yet light-hearted movie that doesn't require my full attention, or I turn up the volume and listen to some music. Because today has an oh-so-sweet theme to it, why not go for movies such as Chocolat or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or songs like "I Want Candy," "The Cuppycake Song," "Sugar, Sugar," or "Tootsie Roll."
